Gung Ho! Gung Ho! Gung Ho! Folks, I think it's time we rally the troops for this one. I am adamant about the necessity to flood the market with benevolence into design. We are approaching an interesting juncture in the global structure -- countries are shifting weight and the flow of business, economics and power structures is starting to move in a new direction not seen before (at least in this configuration.) What I mean by that is the acclaimed leader known as ...

This guest post is from Chris Tabor, a graphic designer and owner of www.digitaldefiant.com Back up the truck I've always questioned the current direction of the web, with its seemingly infinite hyperbole and useless, redundant and outright diabolically plagiarized content streams (such as spam websites, fake aggregators, spambots, etc...) which always contribute a whole lotta' nothing to the web. Sadly there is a catch-22 to the web: it's wild west territory, where heaps of trash content, sites and more get created, yet its ...

I have been in a whirlwind of musical backtracking, due in part to the wonderfully useful and amazingly free Grooveshark "app". Although I wish they'd have support from iphone, but that's another story in itself. Today we're doing another "fontacular" special (a project I love to do!) and I've decided to go the CD/music route again, since I've been listening to a lot of inspiring stuff lately. I use a great font I found in my own collection, and decided to ...

Google has just released it's new API for Fonts. While this may not sound all that exciting, I think it's quite another breakthrough in the openness, continuing evolution and social-building of the web. What does this mean? Google has released a few great fonts to go with it, even one I have and have used on many occasions in my design profession: Yanone Kaffeesatz. This powerful new system has some enticing new capabilities that I've highlighted: Easily link a Google font CSS file ...

This is a new feature that we'll be adding to the blog -- we'll feature a new font and make a faux design using that font, to inspire creativity, promote typographers, and add more fun to the site! Todays posting is about the font Kushtie. I found this lovely little font at dafont.com as a featured font on the home page. It's free donationware and boy is it quality. It comes in three sets: Kushtie Ligatures, Kushtie Light and Kushtie ...

I received the following feedback about two weeks ago: "i have no legs but this site works very well anyway!" I am still trying to decipher the meaning of this cryptic message. Perhaps there are snakes browsing the site? Maybe, just maybe we can reach out to the reptile audience. We'll be adding new content from the Zoo so there is a likely chance Mr (or Ms.) secret serpent will find some rather useful content!

So I picked up this article from logo design love (great site in it's own right!) and I was relatively amused, a bit angered, but mostly amused. I think these days design and marketing has evolved, or at least changed, to something more organic -- less structured. What's the article all about? Well put simply, Istockphoto is undergoing a new addition to their very large database of stock files: stock logos. It turns out they are selling them once, so a ...

Hooray! www.allourstock.com has jumped significantly in rank, and is now #2 (from nonexistant) under the broad search term "all our stock" (no quotes) in only a few short weeks. I'll likely detail my process at some point, but suffice it to say, hard work and a bit of adsense combined with buysellads is helping a ton. While I'm here, check out some of the new stuff that's been added -- tons of photos, collages and drawings, along with a few website ...

Well, there's plenty of great new updates and content on All Our Stock. It's made some great headway but I've been working towards new improvements and implementing a mass amount of new stock to infuse the site. There has been plenty of new additions, including new categories like Transportation, Flowers, Objects, Plants, *breath* Animals, Landscapes, Technology/Industrial, and Food/Drink. What's great is the quality AND quantity of photos I've had the opportunity to look at and add, I've made some new ...
